Best CPU cooler

The best Socket A cooler is the Thermalright SP-97. Couple this with either a quiet fan for silence or a powerful Tornado for extreme cooling.

Best for max cooling, min noise = Zalman CNPS 7000A-Cu
2nd best = Zalman CNPS 7000A=AlCu

You may need to file down one ot the attachment brackets on some motherboards, (eg, NF7) but that is a trivial job.

Will the Zalman CNPS 7000A-Cu fit in a A7N8X-E Deluze? My power supply is like 1 inch above my mobo, so i am not sure this will fit. Also it intrudes into the ram slots, man that thing is huge.

another vote for the SP-97

also, why does everyone mispell the word "quiet"
That must be the most mispelled word on the forums

I'll tell you one thing... VOLCANO 9 + COOLMOD SUCKS ASS!
Crazy, crazy loud. I have to run it 1/4th speed most the time, otherwise I can't hear my family call me for dinner...
Once I looked into a new air cooler, and if you're willing to shed $65 + fan, you can get that swiftech hedge-hog looking thing, the beast robs your CPU of all its heat and throws it into the air through its forest of aluminum pins... Crazy stuff for air-fans.

The site is framed, so I can't give you a direct link... but they are on the front page.

I use a MCX462-V (Swiftech) on my 2500 barton at 2.4 and it keeps everything cool at
38 C under load. I do have a 90 mm fan on there that is mildly loud (31ish dB) but I think it's pretty good.

And no one can spell arctic correctly, in Arctic Silver and Arctic Cooling.

My vote is for the Thermalright SP-97 and a low-speed 92mm Panaflo. It doesn't hang over the edge of your motherboard, so you will have room.

I would go for a zalman, I have two and they are both amazing, keep both my cpu's under 44C under full load (prime95 for hours).
the swiftech sinks are also some of the best around.
And one word I see misspelled here is "dying",many people spell it as "dieing"
