it is not a fake. most people try not to bid on an item and only bid like crazy at the very end. This way they save some $$$

Most of my auctions have like 1 bid for 6 days. Then last 10 mins there are like 80 bids. rofl

Watch what price it ends at ;p
 
Man I totally agree with you about the last minute bidding, but my friend asked him how much shipping was for the computer and the guy replied back offering the computer for $600, yet my friend never bid!

If someone offers you over $1,500 worth of new computer hardware for $600, they either plan to charge you $1,000+ for shipping or they're just going to take your money and run.

Common sense++
 
That auction definately has a reserve on it. There is no way that anyone could afford to sell a comp like that for only $400, unless it was stolen.

It actually doesn't have a reserve on it, which is suprising.
 
I have never bought from Ebay, I don't trust people...

You can't have a hidden reserve or extend the close of the auction if a certain amount hasn't been met?
 
It's fairly easy to rip someone off useing paypal...just had it happen to me ona recent auction. Unfortunately my bank won't protect me and pay pal can't do anything to help.

Yes you can reserve. If an item has a reserved price it'll meantion that near it's current price (usually "Reserve not met"). There are no 'hidden' reserves on eBay. Although the price seems very suspicious it seems the offer is too intriguing to pass up ;) I'll look more into it, there's no way someone could sell a computer with such a great loss.

Ebay can be 100% safe if you take the necessary precautions. The simple way to not get ripped off? Use escrow.com . Any legit seller would have no problem with using escrow, since the buyer is the one that pays the escrow charges. $10 for escrow charges to insure you con't get ripped off for a $1000+ computer is a pretty good deal.
