I know these headphones aren't very popular among audio enthusiasts, mostly because over-the-head cans will always reproduce sound better.

but I'm looking for a casual and portable headset in this form factor (clip-on or behind-the-neck) that reproduces sound well enough...not like crappy sony or JVC neckband headphones that come with CD players.

I've tried MANY earbuds, but my ears are weird...either they don't fit well or they actual begin to hurt/become uncomfortable.

I've been looking at some koss clip-ons and sennheiser neckband.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks.

You should look into the iGrado (made by Grado) headphones. It's a street style headphone that will sonically outperform anything currently available in the low-end portable market. It uses the same drivers from the more expensive sr60 and sr80 Grado phones. Excellent company. I own the sr80s and wouldn't give them up for anything.
