I'd like to replace my aging 802.11b router with a cheap "g" or draft "n" router. What are some of the features to look for (MIMO?)? Any brands to favor or avoid? I just saw both an Airlink 802.11n and D-Link 802.11n router at Frys for $50.

Also I'm considering this 802.11g router which is listed in the recommended routers stickied thread:

I live in a 2 story condo, router is upstairs wired into Xbox 360. Downstairs is laptop and desktop PCs on wireless connections. I rarely do file sharing between computers, so the wireless is only for internet and playing the Nintendo DS online.

linksys wrtg54g. I had mine for 3 years and the only problem i have is usually after a power failure, it will not connect anything and i have to do a power reset. Outside of that, it works like a champ.

I'm a fan of Linksys WRT54G's. Make sure you get a version 5 or lower. A 3 or 4 would be ideal, but some of the newer ones are still hackable with smaller firmwares.

Try not to get a 7 or 8 since they do not have removable antennas.

Some of the Buffalo stuff is very good too, but also more expensive.

DD-WRT is my firmware of choice if you couldn't guess.
