Best cheap small desktop speakers?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a small set of desktop speakers to plug into my new MBP. Right now I've got a pair of random Dell things that are fine, but my GF wants those, so I get a new toy. I'd like it if the setup was just 2 speakers - but if a sub will make alot of difference I'll sacrifice the portability and grab that. I'd like to keep it around or under $30 or so.

Thanks,

For under $30 your not going to get any better than what you currently have.

I'm pretty surprised at those responses. what about something like these?

And you would've been surprsed at my response too as I was going to recommend those.

Get them and never look back, pretty damn good for the money.

Good gods, a sub is ALL the difference. Plenty of 2.1 setups have smaller subs. Several years ago I got a cheap Altec Lansing 2.1 set from Wal-Mart for $30. Sub wasn't too big, not heavy. It lasted me three or so decent years, then the satellites got bad. But now I have Klipsch ProMedia 2.1.

I'd also like to hear opinions on these Creatives SBS260's. They're so cheap! and all the reviews are positive. but maybe the extra $20 is worth it for the sub of the logitechs?

I sort of doubt those will sound noticeably better than your dell speakers, definitely go with the logitech x-230 ;)

Get em from newegg for $37 shipped, or get them from Buy.com for $27 shipped when combined with the google checkout discount.

great idea.

except - google checkout is acting NUTS. it won't accept Ohio as a real state for my shipping address....
