Would anybody happen to know which company makes the best/fastest CD-Rom drive? All i'm looking for is a drive that will install software / play music, you know, the basic. No DVD, no CD burning, etc... Thanks.

Well that depends, first do you want to spend a lot of money? Because, if you do then the Kenwood 72 TrueX is the fastest. The reason is because it uses multiple lasers instead of one like all the other cd-roms, which allows full 72x access accross the entire disc.
