Best case

Also, I think I forgot to mention - I don't really care about the price, so long as it is below $500-600. I want to buy a quality case that will be compatible with future component upgrades.

Iian-li V series, or silverstone 07/09 blow everything else out of the water.

I've worked with stackers and they just do not compare.

Throwing more fans onto a case doesn't always turn into better cooling. Proper design and air flow are more important. Also the extra attention given to where you can place things goes a long way.

Cooler master is in between a high end aluminium case, and the gaudy ricer cases.

Even within the $500-600 price range, I would still recommend the Antec P182 even though it is much cheaper. I dont think any cases have much more over the Antec that make it justifiable to spend the extra.

The Antec P182 will easily hold sli and crossfire systems with great ease.

It is a very futureproof case because it can hold enormous gfx cards when the middle HD tray is removed.
It uses only 120mm fans so low noise and has excellent airflow.
When the lower chamber fan is removed, the p182 can hold enormouse PSUs with lots of room to spare. I have at least 3 inches of space infront of my PSU.
It can hold up to 6 HDs, which I am sure is way more than enough.
It can hold 4 optical drives, also which I think is way more than enough.

Great - so now I am thinking of either the Antec P180, Antect P182, or TJ09. Looking at these two cases though, I don't really see many differences. They both seem to be seperated into compartments, and seem to have approximately the same vents/fans. Anything that makes on better than the other?

Thanks!

Silverstone TJ07. Period.

Once you see the quality.. you would be absolutely foolish to go with anything else.

My close second favorites to this case:

Lian Li V2000 series
Lian Li G70

Any case made by Lian Li... the build quality is just amazing.

Which of these suggested cases have a top vent w/ fan? I thought the PC-V2000B PLUS II looks good, but it seems to lack a vent w/ fan at the top. It seems to me that since heat rises, it would make sense to have at least a vent with fan at the top to move heat out of the case.

That leaves you with P182 and TJ09 then. Can't go wrong with either one.

What is the best case for me to get? I want it to have great airflow, plenty of room for an SLI video card configuration, and plenty of expansion bays for at least 2-3 hard drives. I don't mind spending a little more, if it is actually a better case. I want to build a new computer, but I am waiting on the next lineup of NVIDIA cards to come out (amoung other things). Do prices on cases fall much? Should I wait until I am going to be ready to build the system to buy the case? What do you think of the CM stacker 830? I think I read somewhere that it is the only "SLI certified" case? Is it the "ultimate case"?

Thanks!

You sir have brilliant taste :)

Anything from the Lian Li V Cool series, the Silverstone TJ-09 and TJ-07 along with the MM UFO if you need loads of room (the Lian Li 343 is worth considering too).

G70 is another good one.

The 830 being 'SLi certified' is a crock, the build quality isn't on par with the Silverstone or Lian Li cases and it relies on silly amounts of fans for cooling.

Doesn't anybody like the Stacker 830 Evolution, then? I really want to get it when i build a computer in a couple of months, since i find most of the Lian Li and Silverstone cases look to plain and boring. The TJ09 is becoming more appealing to me, though. What are the best cases for someone like me?

I really like the Silverstone TJ-07, get a black one with a window. It is a very big case with plenty of room for all your components.

Yup, the tj07 is hands down the best case out there. Extruded aluminum that is rugged and beautiful. Makes other panels seem cheap. the tj09 is nice, but it is still cramped in the interior. The tj07 can handle a few rads and ac ouple of power supplies. The layout, quality, and room for upgrading leave it the top dog. My second would be the Lian Li a10.

As far as the stacker, it is a large case that is very flexible, but forget multiple fans - I want stealth and quietness; and to me, it is butt ugly.

Hope you are happy with your choice, and good luck.

Mountain Mods U2-UFO. If you have the $$$ and the real estate. It's basically a "double" case, all aluminum, and made in the U.S.A. I had a Lian Li PC-65b before this case, and it made annoying buzzing noises at the pci brackets. I have not had that problem with the UFO. Plus, it's freakin massive.............heh.

whats the best case for around 75$?

Lian Li PC7 +II is a little over your budget but very good. Same goes for the A05 (both can be had for $90 / $100).

For $75 or less you're looking at coolermaster centurions, akasa zen, gigabyte triton or similar.

If you're really on a budget you can get the XION Stacker (stacker copy with thermaltake armor type doors) for $50 after a $25 rebate. It has 120mm fans all round and seems pretty well laid out for a $50 case.

Lian Li all the way Pc-65 , pc-75, v-1000, v2000 all great cases best out there in my opinion
