I'm looking for a easy install window kit for a mid tower chieftec case. I like the idea of the etched one from frozencpu.com but I wondering if it's sturdy enough (i'm also looking at the laser etched ones). This would be my first mod so I can use any advice.
 
Dont buy a kit. Do it yourself. In some cases its even easier, and looks a hell of a lot better. You can also customise it to your needs.
 
do it yourself, just cut a hole, measure some plexiglass, then rivet them in, saw off the ends of the rivets.

the kits make it look ugly as hell.
 
Just do it yourself, plus it would give you some practice/experiance for the next time..
 
My first window mod was a kit, it was a pain in the ass. The locking strip for the molding did not work right and I read the instructions wrong requiring me to cut the damn hole out again. :(

Like the other posters before me I will suggest that you just do one from scratch. The kits are a waste of money and are actually more difficult to use than just buying yourself some plexi and rivets or bolts from Home Depot. You may have to spend some more time finishing the edges but it will look better.

If you insist on a kit, Best Buy was carrying one a while back for around $15. It had the molding and plexi and a little washer for your drawing enjoyment.
 
Yea cut a hole smooth the edges paint it and I usualy use some good epoxy on the inside of the case to hold a peice of lexan in place. Looks real nice because you dont have bolt/rivet holes.

yup...my aspire case had those plastic push-in screw things....whatever they are called, looks ugly. i prefer just some good ol epoxy.
