I dont know crap about nvidia cards but if i cant find one for about 250 that better than a 9800pro im going with ATI. Ive heard good things about some nvidia cards you can use coolbits on and OC them. Well thanks.

Oh and are 6600 worth buying also?

for $250, you found the best card, the 6800 OC. It is better than a 9800pro (about 9,000 3dmark03 stock) and it beats the 6600GT in most cases.

Yup - ATI don't have a card that's anywhere near competitive to the 6800 OC in this price range at the moment.

If you're lucky, you might get one that will allow you to unlock it to a full 16 pipes as well which should give a significant performance gain with little risk.

Im not sure how to unlock it? how do you go about it? Im running a 9600xt ATM and i try to run CS:S on 1280x1028 caue i got an lcd now and it kinda lag on low detail, so. How much performance jump is there if i oc? there any scores anyone has to tell? and how to unlock it? thank you. I just ordered it from outpost so. :)

Yep... and if you get one that unlocks to 16 pipes and the 6th vertex unit without artifacting it's no contest.

Isnt it 11k stock with a 6800NU? I cant remember my exact score, but I believe it was 13,237 in 03 and 3726 in 05. Mines OCd a little faster but not much (370/780)

Taking aside the synthetic benchmarks arguments, I'd be disapointed if a slightly overclocked non-Ultra was beating my slightly overclocked full Ultra - I only get about 12800 in 3DMark03 at 440/1.13.

9k+ for a stock nu sounds about right.

Actually your right, just logged into ORB and its 9860 for 03 and 3726 for 05. Wonder where I got that number from... a dream maybe? :)

your score cannot be 13,237. just no. That is the score of a x800xt PE stock. My 6800GT stock benches ~11,000. 6800 Ultra = 12,000.

your 3DMark05 score sounds right, but that would make your 3DMark03 score right where it should be, ~9,000, i.e.

6800GT:
3dmark03 = 11,000
3dmark05 = 4,500

6800NU:
3dmark03 = 9,000
3dmark05 = 3,500

EDIT:sorry, didnt see the correction already

i know of 2 6800OC from BFG that have unlocked just fine ^^ and youll be able to play CS:S with 1280x1024 4xAA 8xAF @ 60+ FPS
