Best card for $150 and under

i'd still go with ti4600 (i'm not up to date on the prices of them recently) but if you can score another 50 bucks then the 9800 pro has been dropping into that price range occasionally.

well 9600pro 9800se 9600xt and 5700 I think are all in there as choices I would go over the 42-4600 series

5900 is better than the 9600xt, not sure what the price is on there, the 9700 ... I dont know if it's as good as the 5900, I missed the 9700 series craze..

teh 5900 is better than the 9600xt, but it costs more, i'd say that refurb'd 9700 that Kami gave a link to would be the best choice.

Get the Powercolor 9700Pro for 12$ cheaper. But if your buget is 150$, save for thje extra and get the 9800Pro. 165$-170$ can get you a 9800Pro

I have seen refurb 256bit 9800Pro's around the $155-160 range.

Try Ebay!

where are ya'll finding these 9800s for 150-180? The cheapest I've seen is still 190-200.

the 128 bit 9800pro is around $170

i'm not sure about a refurbished 256bit 9800pro.. perhaps around the same

the 256 bit one is still $205 cheapest on newegg

Grab the Powercolor 9800SE and then use the Omega drivers. Toggle to have it softmod to a 9800 Pro and bam nice new card for cheap.:)

I would not chance the 9800SE, even if the rate of sucess is high, B/C if it fails 9600Pro speeds and best which is not good.

I'd advise getting the 9600XT, and not buy something that's refurbished. But that's just how I'd go about it.

I agree with this! $40 is well worth the extra for the performance you will gain.

Anyone got a link to a Hercules 9800 Pro for $189? That's a damn good deal...

I can't I'm buying this for someone and the limit is $150 so I could go 9600Pro 9600XT or 5700, so pro or XT is what I'm looking at a Pro for around 120ish seems good, would I see any real difference from the between the two 9600s?

No, you wouldn't see any differences. But maybe go for that refurb 9700pro listed earlier in the thread for $150.
