i just installed a new internal blu-ray player into my pc, and fairly soon I'll get myself an actual real life blu ray movie film on disc. what software should i choose to play the disc?

can i just stick with vlc? it does everything else fine.

depends. Do you just want HD video or need something that will decode the advanced audio codecs? DTS-MA is pretty sweet if you have the ability to play it.

what program is good for playing advanced audio codecs? I don't have the need for that right now, but perhaps in the near future. otherwise what is a good program just for the video?

I use PowerDVD 8 Ultra and it works pretty well for me.
