Best Big Display for Text/Programming

I currently have two Samsung 940BW's powered by a 8800GT. Each display is 1440x900. But I find I need more space. I like to watch tv/movies while I work, all while having my editor, browser, various terminals sessions, pidgin, irc, email, etc open.

My current setup is just not enough space and I need something new. I want the text to be very crisp, but I have sensitive eyes so I tend to turn down the brightness. I also watch tv/movies, but really dont play games,

What would you guys recommend? Im open to whatever is best and really dont care about cost, just as long as its not insane or above $1500.
 
get a second monitor. overall you will be much better off, assuming you have the desk space.
 
Get a 30" ?

2560 x 1600 lets you fit a lot more on there...

I do a lot of programming and have 3 x 1080p displays in portrait... which is ~ 6 megapixels...
 
I would grab a single 30inch. There was a ebay seller selling Dell 3008WFP's for 899$ I think. Then sell your 2 current samsungs
