Hey guys,

I've already ordered these parts for my PC:

Case: SG01-Evolution case
GPU: eVga 7900gt KO reloaded
Optical: Lite-On DVD burner w/ lightscribe
HDD: Seagate 320gb w/ perpendicular recording SATAII
TV Tuner: Visiontek Xtasy 550 pro
Others: Sunbeam fan controller, Cross Flow fan, 80mm fans, IR remote

These are the parts I'm going to order when the AM2 price drops on monday (or tomorrow?!):

CPU: X2 4600+
Ram: 2GB of G.Skill DDR2 800
PSU: xClio 450watt
Mobo: ?????

Alright, this is where I need some [H]elp. NewEgg has 3 AM2 boards that interest me, I don't know too much about the different chipsets:

First is the
Biostar Tforce 6100 , I've heard lots of good things about the 939 Tforce, and am wondering if the same is for the AM2 version. The biggest thing that bothers me is no firewire, but I'm not sure if I'd even be using it. I have a bunch of firewire PCI cards, but extra slots are a premium in a SFF system

Second is the Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G This board seems to have all of the bells and whistles I'm looking for, it's got good reviews and firewire etc etc.

Third is the Asus M2NPV-VM This thing seems to be like the gigabyte, just with better onboard graphics.

To me the best option looks like the gigabyte board. I'd like some mild overclocking, nothing extreme. Onboard sound should be pretty decent, I don't see the point in blowing 200-300 bucks for a speaker system and card for a college dorm room set up, I already have a 2.1 system I'm happy with. Any one have any suggestions? There isn't a lot out there on the AM2 mATX mobos. Hopefully the x2 4600+ I get comes with the heat pipe cooler, that should suffice for cooling. If I get the POS one I'll get the NT06 or something. I was going to wait for conroe, but with the combination AMD price slashes, lack of Intel mATX mobos, the ridiculous prices on the Intel mobos, the initial price gouging of the conroe, and my lack of time (this is going to be a college rig, I'd like to have at least a month to play with it) I've decided to go with AMD this time (again). And, if the rumors are true about AM3 working in AM2 that's always a bonus! Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks
-Matt

I'm pretty much stuck between the gigabyte and the Tforce, is there any real difference besides the firewire? It doesn't seem like it...

I had several issues with the s-939 6100 Gigabyte board, I definietly would suggest the T-force as many have had great success with the s-939 version.
