So I've been perusing around the modding forums..looking for the case with the best balance between airflow & quietness (meaning < 25db).

I know there are a number of factors affecting cooling including type of fans used and cable wiring/management. But presuming fans are all less than 25db and cable management is good...

in your opinion, what is the best case out there?

I'm currently looking at coolermasters, lian lis, silverstones and Antec's P180 (apparently a fav around here). My budget is about $150 max. A window would be nice..but not a must.

I currently have a coolermaster with a door (last generation - forgot the model) and i feel I'm not getting hte performance I need from the stock 4 fans. And I'm not willing to change fans so that they're louder. Additionally, my wiring blows..but for my next case I promised myself I would fix that.
:D

Suggestions?

Great newbie like article on SPCR about the basics of silent PC'ing. I think your big three areas of noise are the PSU, CPU coole, and HD's. In all honesty fans have gotten so quite over the years they are rarely a problem. I did alot of reading on the p180, its silent but the cooling effects arent great. There is a great shoot-out article on SPCR bewteen the p180 and slk3000B. The results are suprising considering one case is 45 bucks and the other is 160+.

After viewing a p180 myslef I ended up going with another case that is argubly less quite and more cool, Antec Super Lanboy. I also needed a case that wouldnt kill me once all loaded up with goodies. The P180 is a heavy heavy case.

P180 is heavy, big, more quiet than cool. Did I say it was heavy? With just 1 HD and all my gear in there, this thing weighs a crap load. Very quiet though.
