I´m using a Cosmo 1000 in my system, and i want to improve the air flow, and the case its not the best choice in that department...

Just to give the complete info:

i7 920 @ 3.6
idle: 43
load under prime: 70
3gb 1600 corsair
9800gx2 vga
Toughpower Cable Management 750W Thermaltake
6 hard drives and one RW
Noctua u12p 1366
Rampage II Extreme

I was thinking in changing the case for one of these:

Coolermaster Sniper
Coolermaster HAF 932
Antec 1200

Cosmos has good silencing friendly features but especially cooling of many HDDs is questionable. (ever checked their temps?)
Considering idle temps you've apparently overvolted CPU notably.
Or if it's caused by high ambient temperature inside case one thing you could try is replacing meshes of exhaust fans with less restrictive wire grills.


Is quietness important factor?
In that HAF and 1200 are entire antithesis of Cosmos and as noisy as car's engine hood open and neither is Sniper really much better in that aspect
 
The CPU is running at 1.280v at 3.6.

Silent is important but the objective is really air flow...

I confess that i´m thinking about sniper, but...any thoughts or clues i will be thankful...

About the hard drives...

And I've considered 40C as limit for warm HDD and 45 for hot... (currently pile off seven WDs stays at 30-35C in Lian Li A71)
Better to start taking back ups of important data... Lifespan prediction looks awfully short especially for that Seagate.
And neither do those two Hitachis look comfortable (thermal expansion stresses when PC is started/shut down) unlike readings of Samsungs... although some difference probably comes from different sensor positioning of makers.

There's definitely nothing that could be done for HDD temps in that case if you already have fan in top of them in 5.25" bay.

Despite of exhausting cooler 9800GX2 surely leaves much heat inside case and you probably disabled idle power saving modes of CPU.
So while there's plenty of exhaust capacity other intake route is blocked by HDD cages leaving that one bottom vent as only intake which along with lack of well directed airflow is probably reason for high temperatures.
And that's also quite impossible to correct. No intakes in front surely helps to keep noise inside but intakes in front behind door and laminar airflow works much better for cooling while still containing noise well.


Cosmos S should surely be easy to keep cool but it lacks every possible silencing feature, including using loudspeaker design HDD cage from Stacker. (which I've had... as last noise leaking open front case)
HAF and Sniper try to use soft mounting but it doesn't look convincing because of plastic tray touching drive offering route for conducting vibration forward.
ATCS 840 at least tries to block direct noise escape in front but in the end there are very little cases which try to balance silencing features and good cooling.
 
These are some general conclusions I reached after modding my case for best combination of quiet and cooling of all components:
- Front-to-back cooling was most effective, assuring sufficient air-flow to all components.
- Side-intake tends to short-circuit air flow, resulting in HDs sitting in a hot zone.
- One of the largest impediments to air-flow was the HD drive cage, effectively an air-dam.
- Minimizing open ports minimizes noise.
- Input air-filter media choice is important for both noise-baffling and maximizing air-flow.

After opening air-grills, removing supplied air filter, drive-cage removal, drive-suspension, taping-off side-vents and surface-mounting furnace-filter media, I got down to a quiet case with good cooling with a single 7-volted Panaflo exhaust fan. I added a second 7-volted Panaflo input fan for a 1C-2C cooling improvement, and the surface-mounted filter media proved a good front noise baffle. The loudest audible component is the un-baffled rear exhaust fan.

Generally, about all you can do with any given case is:
- Isolate mechanical noises.
- Reduce noise-leak paths.
- Minimize flow restrictions - so you can reduce fan speed/noise requirements.
- Consider baffles and noise-absorption materials - though I found this unnecessary.

I have an Antec 1200 and I can vouch for its excellent airflow and overall build quality. While it is not silent, I don't find it to be as noisy as some of the reviews I read claimed that it was. I keep all the fans on medium and I am not bothered by the noise at all while gaming with headphones.
 
of those choices I'd take the 1200, it has the best airflow of the 3.
 
Well i went for the Sniper...

The air flow is very good, i can feel the fresh air blowing outside the case.

Comparing the Comos with the Sniper i noticed 7ºc difference in CPU temps, thats huge...

With 6 fans and working at full speed the case is noisier comparing with the Cosmo and even comparing with the staker 832(6 120mm fans)...

Reducing fan speed i can see a movie or watch tv without any problem.

I like the option of turning off the blue lights, and let me tell you the rampage its more beautiful and shines in this case....
