Best Air Cooled Case 6HDDs?

Hey, lately I've been feeling a bit cramped by my maxed out 4HDDs in my Antec Sonata III (Don't even want to go into the misery that it's been each time I've had to swap one), and also been wanting a bit more air flow then it provides as I think I'd like to overclock my currently at stock E8400 (I routinely do data processing that takes up to six hours to do a run, I'd like a speed up) and as I understand more air flow is better for this.

I want the most potential in this exercise without going to watercooling (it's just something I've decided against) and to also have the chance of carrying the case over to my next computer whenever I may make it (I'm estimating next year around this time).

My big things are though, I'm starting to feel cramped at 4hdds (yeah, I hoard data), so I'd like a case that supports six, but this seems to rule out a lot of cases. I've glanced at the Lian-Li PC-X1000, and it looks good, but a glance in these forums says that wiring is tricky (though it looks like a dream compared to my current box). Also, although I don't want price to be an issue, it is a bit high and if I can get something great for less, I'd like to know about it. The Silverstone TJ10 appears to support the six hdds, but I can' t seem to find any reviews about it's airflow. Anyway, if anyone can offer suggestions in this case hunt, it would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a bit late and you've probably done a bunhc of research already but I hear the Antec 1200, HAF932 and Coolermaster 840 are supposed to be great for airflow, the 840 I think is the only one with filters.

edit: my bad the 1200 has dust filters . ..

My 1200 keeps all my drives really cool, just a hair over ambient. And it does have dust filters.

i 2nd the Antec 1200 .... i love it, the looks could be better, but the airflow makes up for it......and human, it has airfilters on all intake fans.

if you ONLY want less than eight drives...

as far as HD cooling goes, Antec Twelve Hundred. I have 6 drives being cool by 120mm fans right in front of them. I could add 3 more if i wanted.

i suppose i have a warped view
if i need to mod a case, then i should buy a different case

though, that said, i did have to file the tabs from my coolermaser RC590 to fit the two supermicro 5 into 3 drive modules

what about the Corsair 800D?
that will hold 6 drives but thats the limit

Don't look for expensive design experiment, look for tried more conventional layout PC-A70/A71 and you'll have more space for lot less money.

Yeah, modding should be done for filling special needs or adding extra feature, not for correcting maker's misdesigns.

From what I hear the 800D isn't really the best performer on air cooling. I think I would buy it anyways just for the cable management.
