What is the best 8 bit panel with 8 ms or less LCD right now? I'm looking to get an LCD. I think my 19 inch CRT might be dying. Its making an a weird buzz which is actually pretty loud and its never done that before. And ever so often it gets what looks like waves going from top to bottom.

Well, I picked up a 20.1 inch WS Viewsonic WX2025WM monitor yesterday, and it's absolutely amazing. The colour fidelity is amazing, and gaming is smooth without any ghosting or tearing. I'd highly recommend that you at least look at one - I can't stress just how amazing this monitor is. Alternately, the Samsung 940B is a great monitor for gaming on, and is a bit cheaper as well.

Another vote for the VX2025, it's simply awesome.

The Belinea 102035 and the Acer AL2051 use the same panel as the Viewsonic according to group tests online, so may be alternatives.

The 940B is not 8bit though, I'm pretty sure its 6bit dithered to 16.2m colours.

I'll chime in for the VX2025wm as well. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Another vote for the VX2025WM. I was pretty concerned over mine for the first couple days, but with the help of others here in the forums, I'm getting my settings dialed in well.

Great in games, like everyone else has said. And, at the price Buy.com has them, it's a steal.

VX2025 gets another vote here. I love this monitor, when im using school PC's its just... :(

another vx2025 user here. there's a very long thread attesting to its greatness. check it out

It's using the AU Optronics P-MVA (M201EW01 V0) panel. Seems a popular recommendation in this thread! :p
