Best 500GB eSATA solution?

I want a 500GB external eSATA (Express Card + external hard drive) storage solution to use with my Dell Latitude D820 notebook. Which is the best bang/buck for my requirements in order of priority?:

1. Quiet (as silent as possible)
2. Reliable
3. Speed (as fast as possible especially for video + audio editing)
4. looks (i don't care how it looks)

btw,
which 2-drive capacity hd enclosre would recommend that is as Quiet as possilbe, but can fit two of these hard drives and be used in RAID 0 configuration?
 
i really like the Iomega Drives, There backup software is rock solid and 1 button to use

While I think that
External drive + RAID-0 = recipe for disaster

I recommend you take a look around here:

they have a lot of 'neat' things, though are a bit pricey.
www.servercase.com may have some too, I am not sure.
 
since i have 2GB of ddr2 667mhz memory, perhaps raid 0 is not worth the speed considering it's more vulnerable to failure. What do you all think of the Seagate Baracuda ST3750640AS 750GB hard drives? I was considering maybe just getting this and using it in a passive SINGLE eSata enclosure w/ my Dell Latitude laptop. thanks!
 
Can someone pls clear up these SATA standards for me? I basically want the fastest External serial ata hard drive (paired w/ the best Express Card sata card for Dell latitude notebook computer). What is the difference between eSATA & SATA II? What is the best for my purposes of recording/editing high definition audio and video in real time to an external hard drive?

Provided you stay SATA throughout the path from your ntoebook to the drive, the enclosure and card you choose should not affect performance much if at all.
