Which would be the best bet? I don't want it to ghost or burn in perminit images. Something awsome. I was looking at Samsung 213T and Sony's. Any other good ones?

I do not own one but have read lots of post praising the Samsung 213T. Even from people who own (or owned) a Dell 2001FP

Sky, I see there's a sale at Best Buy stores, on 21.3" Samsung 213T. Sale ends mid-Sept. $999 after rebate.
It uses exact same panel as my $1350 (raised to $1600 last time I checked) 21.3" Viewsonic VP211B.
The Viewsonic was super in gaming and I loved it.
Yes, there was some ghosting in high-speed action scenes, but it never bothered me.
.If your eyes are bothered by even a little ghosting, then go for a16ms panel like the new Hewlett Packard 23" L2335.
The 213T and VP211B are 25ms.
Better still, since BB has a 14 day "full refund" policy, grab the 213T at a BB store and check it out for a few days intense gaming. Good luck

If you don't want ghosting, stay away from the 213T. 25ms is just too slow for gaming, especially first person shooters. If you aren't playing any FPS, or games with high speed, and action....you probably won't notice the ghosting at all. I had a 191T and I didn't notice any ghosting when playing Warcraft III or Final Fantasy XI. But when you fire up far cry, the ghosting is terrible. I would reccomend the ViewSonic VP201B 20.1" LCD Monitor. WIth a 16ms response time and 1600x1200, it is a good choice for gaming in my opinion. The only drawback is the 400:1 contrast ratio, which is a bit low. But between the 213T, and the VP201B, the VP201B is the better choice for gaming. Plus, it is cheaper @ $889.

When looking for a LCD gaming monitor what do I look for? refresh rates. Dot Pitches.

Also what is the 16ms or 12ms? The lower the better?

Responsetime is very important, I guess. The lower the better indeed.
Some faster screens use a dithering technique to compensate for the missing colors it can't produce, which sometimes doesn't do the screen any good color-wise, but with a good screen this is never really a problem.

I don't think the dotpitch is very important though, I've been reading some threads and it isn't a big thing at all. ( could be wrong, so check )

You have to beware of low response time LCDs as that usually indicates that something else is not as good. For example, a 16ms VP201B has a refresh rate of 16ms but a contrast ratio of only 400:1 (not that great but sweet monitor none the less :p), while a 25 ms Samsung has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Big difference. So unfortunately, low response times usually come with not so great contrast ratios, among other small things.

But for a gaming LCD, refresh rate should be the feature that is most important - lower is better, of course.

Refresh rate or Response time??

Or are they the same? Do they have anything to do with eachother?

Is this ANOTHER aspect I'm going to have to keep an eye on....jeezzz

Refresh rate and response time are two completely separate things. Response time is how fast it takes an individual pixel to change colors. For example, if something is moving accross the screen, the response time is how fast the pixels change to the appropriate color while the image is moving. So the lower, the better.

Refresh rate, however, can be found under display -> settings -> advanced -> monitor. The refresh rate is measured in Hz. A refresh rate of 75 Hz means that the display will update itself 75 times per second. So the higher, the better. This can be pretty important in the realm of gaming because too low of refresh rate will equal screen flickering when there is movement or "waves" in the image. I have some waves in Doom 3 at 75 Hz so usually anything 85 and up is really good.
