Best 2.1 Speaker Setup?

I'm tired of my 8 year old Klipsch ProMedia 4.1.
Is there anything better out there these days?
I've been so out of the loop - any suggestions?
 
You'd basically have to step up to discrete componentry. All these years later, I'm afraid PC speakers aren't much better. If you're looking for more (not necessarily quality) bass, I think the Logitech Z-2300 is the one with the 8" sub.
 
You might get more response if you head over to the "Computer Audio" section. Many audio guys hang out there and might not venture to these subforums. Also, what are you looking for exactly, do you just want computer speakers again or are you willing to bump up to a piece together system?
 
Honestly, if you are going for a 2.1 setup I would invest into a high quality headphone.

I had the same question last year, and just ended up replacing the speakers I sold with my old system (ProMedia 2.1s) with a new set. It doesn't seem that there are sets in that price range that really near the quality of those speakers.
