How much are you willing to spend? If it's in the range of ~$300, it's possible to get a 2408WFP for that price, and that doesn't have an inferior TN panel.

Bacano,

I am actually in the same boat as you as I am looking to get a dual display setup and well 2x$500 is wayy to much.

The displays I currently have my eye on are:

ASUS VW266H 25.5" 1920x1200 - $250
Pros: Can be had for $250, no tax, free shipping, 1920x1200, 3 year warranty, and multiple inputs
Cons: Poorly adjustable, asus warranty is just "ok"

Samsung T240 24" Monitor - $300
Pros: Good reviews, lots of inputs, HDTV tuner, 1920x1200
Cons: Expensive for a TN monitor, not the most adjustable

Dell 2209WA - $200-250
Pros: eIPS panel, great viewing angles, 0 dead pixel warranty, usb hub, easily adjustable
Cons: 1680x1050 => decent amount of space lost, only 22"

Also about the 2408wfp, It is a very nice monitor but good luck finding it around $300 without it being a used, older revision. The lowest Dell has sold it for online is ~$390 +tax after coupons (although it might come down soon with the U2410). Even New on ebay is $390.

The T240 does not have an HDTV tuner, the T240HD does. And another con about the T240HD is that it has higher input lag. I don't know about the T240 though, no one seems to mention that one.

My budget is to 300EUR maximum.

The 2408WFP is MVA panel and more than 500USD at Dell.com.. not a good option to me.

Interestingly I've also narrowed my options to Samsung T240 and I found that LG has a similar monitor the W2452T (or W2453V probably a newer revision)

Samsung T240
TN panel
1920x1200
20000:1
5ms
300cd/m²
160/160 viewing angle

LG W2452T
TN panel
1920x1200
10000:1
2ms
400cd/m²
170/170 viewing angle

which of the two is better?
The LG more expensive.
The samsung doesn't have height adjustment but I think I can live without it.

What other options are available?

Check out the Dell G2410 (TN with LED backlight).

That's a 1920x1080 monitor though, right? Not what the OP wants.
Man if the BenQ G2400WD were still around I'd say pounce on that ASAP.

I wish I could help you out with your choice OP, but I'll be interested in which one you decide to get.

I would go with a Dell 2209WA
I know its not 1900x1200 but it's going to have the best picture.

If you really need it to be 1900x1200 well I guess good luck with your search.

DAMN! I'm tired of searching!
yes Dell G2410 is 1920x1080...

samsung 2443 has only one connection! I really would prefer the classic squared design of this one instead of the rounded T240 that has no height adjustment...

There aren't too many options at 1920x1200 like there is for 1920x1080. I wish there where more like LED backlit high response times etc.

1920x1200 is underrated among the mainstream users that think 1080 and full of HD crap is the best thing ever! probably marketing and standards fault too.

MAYBE I will buy the T240 if I find a nice deal over Europe.

Lenovo makes a very nice LED-backlit 1920x1200 TN panel monitor... it even has a fully adjustable stand. Quite expensive though... dunno how the price is in the EU.

Out of your list the Asus VW266H from amazon. You can't beat this monitor for the price/warranty/size and low response/input lag right now. Amazon has an awesome return policy so it seems like an obvious choice for under $300. Unless you need perfect color I wouldn't bother with any better panel monitor.

I had a T260HD and noticed input lag on it pretty easily. The non HD might be better, but I would still go with Asus.

Which one is that Lenovo you are saying? I cant find it at lenovo website, and they are selling samsung and viewsonic monitors there too?

BTW in your sig you say you have 2x Samsung T240 what do you think about them?

I've seen a review somewhere that says the samsung T240 has very low input lag, so no problems here.
Now I start to thing that 24" is a bit too BIG, I have taken some measures and a 22" would be almost the same size has 24" and still big enough.
Is there any better options at 22" size and 1920x1200?

You wont find many (if any) 1920x1200 monitors at 22". If you get a 22" you are looking at 1920x1080 and 1650x1050 primarily.

The T240 is alright... nothing special.

The Lenovo is the L2440x.

What he said. You wont find 1920x1200 until you get to 23-24 likely. Honestly extra screen real estate never hurts unless you don't have the space for it. I think 24" is the ideal size for most people including me but the extra 1.5" i have doesn't hurt. The extra vertical pixels are nice too. I just want me some dual screens now.

I'll lose my mind because there are no decent monitors in the screen size/resolution I want, and then I'll BUY THE DELL U2410 for 600EUR! ...which also has a lot problems with tinting and dithering... wtf there's no good displays these days?...

I see a LOT of monitors from the same brand with the exact same specifications just changing the model numbers 2442 2443 2433T 2433TQ 2433TQX what is this s***??!
Even from different brands I see similar model names. Is there some kind of consumer manipulation? Are they trying to help us buy the best monitor? Naaaa they just want to sell whatever they have in stock.
I remember hearing on the news that there was -or there still is- price combinations between panel manufacturers. I don't know if you understand but this is a crime.

[/rant]

Most likely I'll just keep my old 17" CRT until manufacturers decide to build a quality monitor. :) Why didn't they improve the CRT technology anyway?

Yeah I'm stuck trying to find a new monitor as well

I've heard the Samsung 2443bw is a good screen for it's price, but I can't find any proper technical reviews detailing colours/input lag etc

man this is depressing, don't think I can afford anything better than a TN panel really...

Samsung T240 5ms 24"WS Samsung TN Film (LTM240CT04)
Samsung 2443BW 5ms 24"WS Samsung TN Film (LTM240CT04)

Looks like it uses the same panel as T240 so it might be easier to decide.

I am currently looking at the same monitors. You can try by taking a shot in the dark with the new e-ips Viewsonic vp2365wb. Supposedly uses the same panel as the highly praised nec ips monitor. Resolution is 1900 X 1080. Though there are no in depth reviews for this monitor.

I might start saving money for the Dell, or maybe with some luck there might come some good promotions in the future for the U2410 so... I'll keep waiting.
