Best 19" gaming LCD?

Hi Guys,

I read a few threads here, many of them concerning the 710T, which seems to be the best gaming LCD out there (at least for a 17" display). I'm looking for the best, or one of the best 19" LCDs for gaming. So, I assume, I'm looking for the best response time and picture clarity so there's no ghosting.

Dell is running a special on their monitors until Monday. They have the 1901FP for $619 - is this any good? Can anyone suggest other high-end 19" LCDs in the $500-650 price range? If I spend anymore, I may as well take advantage of the $799 2100FP from Dell - but for now, lets see what 19" LCDs are out there.

Thanks very much!

I've been looking around and searching for a while aswell.

There are only 2 threads here that talk about the dell 1901, which it looks like a pretty nice monitor to me, but the max res is 1280x1024... kinda smallish to me.. maybe not...

I've seen several on viewsonic's site but likewise haven't found much information about them here. For the most part they are over 700 on the egg, which would put me right close to the 2001fp...

650 or less is my goal aswell....

BoogerB,

I actually went ahead last night and bought the Dell 1801FP. At the time it was a toss up between the 710T and 1801FP...the price difference was only $57 more for the 1801FP. As far as response time goes, the 710T is 12ms, while the 1801 is 16ms. I think the 1901FP was 25ms, and people were noticing ghosting. I'm pretty sure I made the right choice, for gaming, the 1901FP wouldn't have been as responsive as I'd wanted it to be.

Hope this helps in your decision too :)! Dell has 10% and free shipping right now, so you can pickup the 1801FP for $557 and no tax :)!

Thanks for the info, I hadn't noticed the response times on the 1901 and 1801 yet.

I was thinking one of the samsung montiors... 172x i believe or the 710 i forget... but 17" monitors seem so small. At work I have a viewsonic graphics 21" or 22" --- forget the # on it... It seems so nice with the screen area but I rarely get to use it...

I'm thinkin of the 1801 now, as its pretty cheap and I could use the money elsewhere in my new system...
