I'm looking for a 1000w powersupply that has good, clean voltage regulation and low noise. I would love to go with the PCP&C but I've heard its REALLY noisy even at low load and the Enermax Galaxy is good but the voltage fluctuation on the 3.3v & 5v rails is over 50mV which might damage some of the components on that rail. What are you guys' thoughts/opinions? Anyone heard good things about the NorthQ NQ-4775-1000 Giant Reactor power supply?

No I guess it doesn't I was just trying to leave some room for OC. The system I have picked out is:

QX6700
2x 8800GTX in SLI
1x WD 320GB Caviar
1x DVD-RW Drive
2GB Memory
Danger Den DD5 pump for WC

I read that the QX6700 OC & 8800 GTX SLI draw about 700w!

You read that where? From someone using nitrogen to OC their CPU and GPU's by 500%?

You can run your whole system with a good 700W if you had a QX CPU and a pair of 8800GTX's as long as you didn't have more than four hard drives and two opticals.

Well here PC Perspective says the QX will hit 236w @ load, so I figured an even 300w once OC. Here PCP says GTX SLI at load will draw 462w.

Are these stats wrong? Or maybe I'm understanding this incorrectly, I just added the wattages together.

So would you recommend the PCP&C Silencer 750?

look at amps, not watts
redbeard has that same system with a Corsair 620W, that's what I recommend
powerful, stable, quiet, 5 year warranty, modular cables - best PSU I've ever used

You can run that system with Corsair HX 620W and that's exactly the PSU I'd recommend for you. It's great PSU (manufactured by Seasonic btw), very powerful, stable, effiecient, and it's very quiet plus it's modular.

You don't need nowhere near 1kw PSU for that rig. HX 620W will easily handle additional disks and optical drives too, plus you can overclock tha rig without worries. If you really think that you must have 700W PSU take Seasonic M12 700W, also very powerful and very quiet modular PSU.

I don't have time to read the articles, but since this is your query I'll make YOU read them. ;) Are you sure these sites aren't talking about the power draw of THE ENTIRE SYSTEM?

With two 8800GTX's installed in a dual FX72 system, I only pulled 450W from the wall running 3D Mark. Assuming the power supply is 80% efficient, that's only 360W DC output.

Would I recommend the PCP&C Silencer 750? If you could get it at a good price. I'd also recommend the Seasonic M12 700 or the Ultra X-Pro 750W for 8800GTX SLI and they both have the four PCI-e connectors you'll need.

Apparantly not because I have that system except with 2x 750GB instead of the Caviar and I have 4GB memory (but no water pump). Running fine on a seasonic 700w for months buried in an enclosed desk cabinet where the ambient temp is regularly 50+C (replacing the desk or relocating the machine simply isn't an option).

Touché, Jonny, I went back and looked at those graphs and right at the top it says "WHOLE SYSTEM". Lol, how I missed that I'm not sure, but I'm sure glad you mentioned it. Going to do a little more reading up on the Silencer & the M12 and then make a decision. Thanks again for all the posts.
