BenQ-XL2410T

I have just got this monitor. It is the equivalent of a good TN panel. That is not special in itself.

But if you play FPS at all, it is a god send, This is the first time I have enjoyed playing FPS on my PC since I got rid of the Sony 21" CRT. I have been through about five 22-24" LCD monitors since then, and they are all poor for FPS, even 2ms high end monitors from Samsung and LG.

If you play any sort of first person shooter, just get this model. No blur, or trailing. Smooth motion. The higher refresh rate also gives you less eye strain, and even normal windows browsing benefits from the fast and smooth motion.

Remember to set the monitor refresh rate to 120 hz in your display settings. If you just plug it in, you will not see it in action, as windows 7 will not automatically change the refresh rate from 60 to 120.

Replaying HL2 right now....

Thanks for the first hand evaluation.. I'm going to be gaming but also want to make sure movies/internet browsing & other day to day stuff looks good.
In hind sight, would you recommend getting a nice 27" or overspend on this 23" ?

It's a tough call. If you are not strictly a FPS gamer, I would go for a 27" IPS panel. This would give you the best picture and be much better for movies and web.

But for me I have never been happy with LCD ever since CRT got replaced. These 120hz panels are a step in the right direction, even if the size is relatively small.

Samsung have a new range of 120hz coming in a few months, with two different 27" models. Hold out for a little while.

You can always check out IPS panels as well, but they are much more costly. Dell makes great ones
