I just got this BENQ monitor and connected it to my pc as a third monitor via dual link DVI.

This monitor got pretty good reviews and people commented that it has nice colour but it looks washed out and yellow to me.I tried to play with the controls but the user defined colours is greyed out and it only lets me pick a bluer mode or redder mode which both look terrible.

I am comparing it to my ASUS VG248QE which is much whiter, brighter and sharper.

BenQ tech support is of course closed on the weekends and the manual is not helping me.

Any ideas how to fix the colour?

Have you tried it as a solitary monitor yet? If not then that's what i would do first.

It's a minor process of elimination but it may tell you if there's a "problem" with the monitor, or if the problem lies within your PC.
 
Hey SJetski I didn't yet but I figured out what was wrong and partially solved the problem.

To enable user controlled colours you have to go to display mode and select user, then everything like hue, saturation and r g b colours unlocks.

I cracked the saturation, kept hue about the same and dropped the red and green levels slightly and now it looks much whiter and closer to my Asus but still not quite as pure white as my Asus, but I can at least live with this now.
 
Ya Im still really disappointed with the whites on this monitor. The whites on it are washed out yellowish even with tons of colour tinkering. My Asus 144 hz 24 inch display blows it away. 
 
What sort of settings are you using? I have two GW2760HS and both are fine in terms of white.
 
Lee I think if I were not comparing it to my Asus I would also say it looks fine. But when you compare it, it looks off.

Colours are fine for sure, its just the whites.

Ill post up settings later.
 
Now that I reminded myself about the VG248QE, yeah, if you're used to it, then anything else will be a shock. Mostly because the VG248QE with its default preset was the most horrid thing I've ever tested when it comes to monitors. In its standard preset I vaguely remember it being incredibly washed out and reaching 8000K color temp. I ended up using theater mode with desaturation to make it look bearable, but it was mostly like polishing a turd.
 
I don't know man, I can't recall how it was out of box, but right now my Asus looks very crisp with great whites and natural looking colours. The BENQ's colours are not bad, a bit exaggerated compared to the Asus though.
 
Of course there can be plenty of variation between panels, and the Asus might have had several revisions since its launch, so it's hard to say how it really is these days. Some claim it's good, but my experiences with it were far from it.
 
If you're having a color tint in whites that won't go away with monitor OSD settings you can try to set different gamma values per color channel via the graphics driver.

I prefer Red, Green, White to 2.2 and Blue to 2.4, gives me a neutral white here.
Maybe your BenQ is off somehow..if its yellowish you might have too much green and not enough blue.
