Hi,

I’m a first time poster, long time lurker at hardforums. You guys all recommend the Benq G2400WD/V2400W/G2400WT so I’m really excited to order one for my PS3 and general workstation.

I’m in Taiwan right now, where Benq headquarters are, and it looks like they have a new model: G2412HD, is this the successor to the G2400WT (which is actually more expensive)?

I don’t know if it has height adjustment or 1:1 pixel mapping, which is important to me. Does anyone know about this? Also, does the 40000:1 compared to 4000:1 (WT model) dynamic contrast ratio matter? Will I be losing much by getting a 1920x1080 rather than a 1920x1200 screen?

Btw, I don’t really know how to compare contrast ratios. Here, Benq says 16:9 is better (http://www.benq.com/products/LCD/?product=1376), but can’t Benq’s G2400WD produce 16:9 as well as 16:10?

Your feedback is much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for your input.

I heard that the PS3 uses 16:9, and I think I'll be using my monitor for that more than desktop space. If they're 1:1 pixel mapping, then 16:10 shouldn't matter right? because it can adapt to 16:9? I hope I'm right in this aspect. In the US, they only have the v2400w in stock, so either I get the G2412HD or the V2400W.
