I need more opinions and info about the FP791 , since its review at the Adrenalin Vault hasn't fully convinced my yet. I'm considering it because it's only $430CDN and I'm on a tight budget right now. But if I had my way I would have gone for the Samsung 710T. Anyhoo, how reliable is Benq? For I'd like something that will last for many years unlike my Viewsonic PF790 that is starting to die shortly after its 3-year warranty expired. Also I game very little if that helps.

My requirements are:

17"
low response times
DVI input
large viewing angles
decent contrast/brightness and colour
 
i have the benq 931fp, im extremely pleased with it rite now, i wasnt picky about the contrast nor the brightness (acceptable is all i care), but i needed it to play games so this monitor had 16ms response, no dead pixels, i cant tell u about longivity cuz i;ve only had it for a week, but so far its very good, no ghosting whatsoever, very clear in games, and....thats about it...
 
I'm using the FP937s model which is basically the same thing but 12ms and it's awful. Very blurry in games, uneven back light, blacks that aren't even close to black and noticeable dithering are just a few problems the screen has.

You get what you pay for.
 
nervx, did you ever get the DVI fixed on your FP937s? I remember you posted in another thread it the DVI wasn't working.

Anyway, I have a FP937s and love it. No ghosting, perfect blacks, and not back light problems. It was a little too bright at first, but after some adjustments, it's perfect.

I'm impressed with Benq so far.
 
wow, a lot of inconsistant results from different people's LCDs. I'm so confused of what panel to get :( .
