Ok guys this is my final decision for deciding whether to return my Acer H243H for this Benq. Since the 7 months its been released there is still 0 on depth reviews regarding input lad or response time. So I come to ask you guys,. does anyone own or seen this monitor in action?

Just to let you guys know, the Acer H243H is a good monitor. Picture, input lag, are both good with no ghosting. The only thing that annoys me is that there is no audio out port, so i cant hook up speakers. This is why I want the Benq instead, I just dont know how good the lag is. Also the Benq has 2 HDMI ports where the Acer only has one, so thats a plus.

ANY help will be greatly appreciated. I just need someone to convince me enough to return my Acer for this Benq.

Thanks guys. =)

In my experience BenQ makes better monitors than Acer. They generally use the same LCD panel elements because Acer owns BenQ from what I remember, but I've always thought that the BenQ screens were one rung up on the ladder.

Usually better OSD, more features, and better customer service.

Sorry, can't comment on the E2420HD.

Overall I've been rather disappointed with the past few low end BenQs I've had. Currently got a G2420HD (I dont know if its the same panel as is in the E2420HD, possibly is) and a G2200W. Both have terrible backlight bleed and the G2420HD has a fickle backlight (at levels where I normally like my backlight the stupid thing flickers slightly).

The reason I keep buying BenQs is the G2020W (I think that's what it was called, dont have it infront of me at the moment) that I bought 2 and a half years ago was great for a low end monitor, and the G2400W/V2400W got such great reviews on [H]. But every other BenQ I've bought or seen in the shops has disappointed me.

Though I feel this is the case with many of the low end monitors. Finding ones which get the basics right seems a bit hit and miss (things like backlight bleed, and being able to adjust brightness and contrast to reasonable levels).

There are lower-end BenQ, just as there are higher-end Acer.

Ok guys, I might take a shot with the E2420HD.

This guy on the NCIX forums said he had both and he said they're both about the same regarding colors, no ghosting, or noticeable input lag.

If its the same or better than the E2400HD i wont be too worried because it got a good review on PRAD. Plus it has 2 HDMI and usb inputs.

Thanks guys.

Mike
