Well I spent a little time today and did some benchies.I recorded0 everything and I will list the info below.I want your opinions here guys, based off the info I provide how do you think my rig is running and or how can I improve on it.

All testing was done at 1280x720.The first set of tests is with my Q9400 at stock clocks and my 8800gt at stock clocks

RE5 DX9 fixed run. Default settings 60.2 fps avg Max settings 61 fps avg
Lost planet snow run Default settings 64 fps avg Max settings 21 fps avg
Lost planet cave run Default settings 70 fps avg Max settings 25 fps avg
SF4 fixed run Default settings 151 fps avg Max settings 79 fps avg

Now here is with my Q9400 at 3.44ghz and the 8800gt at stock clocks still

RE5 DX9 fixed run Default settings 71 fps avg Max settings 73 fps avg
Lost planet snow run Default settings 68fps avg Max settings 21 fps avg
Lost planet cave run Default settings 86 fps avg Max settings 26 fps avg
SF4 fixed run Default settings 165 fps avg Max settings 84 fps avg

Results do to my cpu overclock
As you can see RE5 gains 11fps at default and 12fps at max settings
Lost Planet snow run gains 4fps at default and no frames at max.I dont understand this???
Lost Planet cave run gains 16fps at default and 1 fps at max settings
SF4 ficed run gains 14fps at default and 5fps at max settings

WHat do you guys think of this? What and how bad is my bottleneck?
I always here that at a low res like 720p you are really cpu dependant.I overclocked my cpu from 2.66 to 3.44 and now it seems I am GPU dependant at this low res.

That's mighty impatient of you. This forum is dead during the weekend, because most of us have lives (I mean hell, your post is still on the front page after a day!) Myself, I was moving yesterday, and only managed to get online at my new place this morning.

Of course, because you removed your post, I have no idea what the content was. Next time don't be so hasty.

You are definitly GPU bottlenecked at this point but those are some nice CPU gains anyways. Your Lost max settings not gaining any speed from OC Quad shows you this the most. Grab a download of Crysis Demo and run it and you will really see how gpu bottlenecked you will be from stock CPU to 3.44. Now games like ghostbusters and Dirt/Grid Racing will show you huge CPU overclock gains if you have them to mess around with.

I have a brand new in box xfx hd4850 sitting here.I dont know if I should use this card or go bigger?
I mean at 720p res it would seem a little silly to go with a gtx 260 but I am thinking about it now.

I will do the crysis benchmark now

Wondering if this hd4850 will do the trick or not.Heard it is like getting free AA using this card compared to the 8800gt

i know a guy that moved up from a 8800gt to a 4850 and the gains were 5-10 fps in most games

That seems like a reasonable gain.Depending on what gmae 10 fps in crysis can be a big deal

I know my 8800GT takes a huge fps hit from high AA/AF

i think you should sell both your cards and invest(haha) in a GTX260/HD4890

One would think that at 720p res that you would not need a killer card like a gtx 260
I am not worried about AA as i dont watch the scenery in game. The games I play if I were to stop and admire the grass I would get shot (COD) lol.

I have played crysis before on a E8400 at 4ghz and a 9800gtx and it was indeed playable on medium settings and those were good enough for me.I dont play alot of games so most of the time lesser hardware will do good for me.
The games i play really dont require super hardware either.Gta 4 is gonna be the game the kicks me in the balls I know it.I still gotta buy the game and try it out on the hd4850 to see how it does.If it does bad then I will buy a new card.

GTA4 is CPU intensive and not very GPU bound.
The difference between a GTX 295 and a 9800GT is slim in that game.
Having tried almost every GPU myself...I would say that I did notice a bit of a jump in frames going from the 8800GT 512mb to the HD4850 512mb in most games....it was only a small jump though.
GTX275 or 260 are proably the best cards I've used

It is hard to find some good reviews from actual users online.I am trying to find someone with similar hardware to mine that is running gta4 with a similar res and I am not having much luck with it.
