I'm going to a local 2nd hand laptop market and want to be sure the hardware is genuine. Are there any benchmarking tools I can run from a usb/pen drive? I'm looking for something that can just verify the hardware configuration to ensure they haven't faked the dxdiag results etc. Perhaps the only sure way to know is to run a benchmark tool that tests the hardware and issues a score? Any available that'd run on a pen drive/drag-and-drop onto a desktop and finish quickly?

Can...but that info can be faked via reg key edits, right? Benchmarks can't...and I thought there may be other software out there that wouldn't b easily tricked.
