Benchmark Weirdness between OS's

Ok so for some reason im getting descent performance changes inbetween OS's and im not really sure why. The biggest difference is in the 3d Mark 01SE, so i dont really know what to think.

system:
ATI 9800XT
AMD64 3000+
ABIT KV8-MAX3
1 Gig stick of DDR400


ok so i first was running Longhorn beta 4074, with the catalyst 4.7 drivers.

Aquamark 3: 43,200~~ (or so i cant remember, just low 43 thousand)
3d Mark 01SE: 19,200~~ (or so...)
3d Mark 03: wouldnt run, something about a text file couldnt figure it out.


Then i switched to a beta Windows XP 64-bit that i DLed off microsoft. (running ATI's beta 64-bit drivers, couldnt get 4.7 to install) I didnt stay on this OS for long as Doom 3 wouldn't run.

Aquamark 3: didn't test
3d Mark 01SE: 16,300 or so.
3d Mark 03: didn't test

then i switched back to regular Windows XP with catalyst 4.7

Aquamark 3: 42,986
3d Mark 01SE: 17017
3d Mark 03: 6744


all tests were done on default settings with performance set in ati control panel.

Also i guess im curious if im even getting good scores for my hardware?
