Here's the deal. There are some people out there who don't have the time, money, knowledge, resources, etc, to whip up a sweet computer. For example, my regular box is a P4 1.8, gig o' 2100 ram, 9800pro. Now back in the day, it ran unreal just fine, played some need for speed on it, alot of diablo II and what not. Now I'm trying to play Farcry, and it's playable, but its knowing how much more I would enjoy the game with more detail if I dropped 200 bucks on a new video card. Flash back to a year ago. I decided to build a new computer. Went for a sexy shuttle case, sn41g2 with an amd 2800+, and a gig o' 2700 ram. I had to put off getting a videocard because I ran out of money. And now that I have just sold my kidney, I'm looking to putting at the least a 6600gt and at the most, an X800XL in agp flavor in my shuttle. Now here is where I would like to conduct the poll. Not simply for my knowledge, but hopefully for others who might be looking to see what their P4 running at 3.4ghz or Athlon64 3200+ would do if they dumped their geforce 4 MX440 for a 6800ultra or X850XT. So I am asking for anyone wishing to volunteer their benchmarking numbers for probably the three most often benchmarked games; Farcry, Doom 3 and Half Life 2 (any or all three if you've got them). Please submit your post in a format similar to this. Please notify in your post what screen resolution your running and whether or not you maxed everything out or set the detail level to default. I am looking for an average between seperate cpu's and videocards, so I don't want people turning this into a pissing contest, saying their equally equipped computer runs Doom 3 5fps faster then someone else. I would also prefer to not have overclocked cpu's or videocards listed. Some people aren't as [h]ard into overclocking and don't have the resources to do so. That should also help from turning this into the aforementioned pissing contest.
