To start off I would just like to say that Belkin makes crap products.
That being said my router has been having what I think is an over heating issue almost from the beginning where when you have a lot of wireless traffic the wireless signal will suddenly die and requires a 5 minuet power down reset to get it working again. I suspect heat because if you saturate the wireless again after restarting it will die again much faster than than the first time but if you let it sit and then keep the traffic down it's fine.
I'm finally fed up with it and decided to do something
1st I opened it up to find a chip with what looks to be some sort of heatsink except that it's just a piece of ceramic tile or some other cheap ass material that crap companies like Belkin use to save pennies.
I found a good looking video ram heatsink at the shop that looked to fit the bill so that was easily installed. Belkin used what appears to be double sided masking tape to attach their lame attempt to the chip but made it easy for me to remove.
2nd I took a look around to see if the vent holes had gotten clogged with dust but I couldn't find any so I got out the trusty drill and added a few.
So far so good, I downloaded 5 different demos at the same time from 5 places with a combined speeds of 3MB/s and had no problems so I think it's working.
