suggestions are VERY welcome.

here's my cpuz screens:

Now, all of this is on a crap 380 watt power supply (really old antec - though i shouldn't say crap, it's done well for how old it is and how beaten it is and how many systems it's been through, i guess :)) but I am putting in a 550 antec tp2 shortly (tomorrow if i have time).

yes, my vidcard is on an x8 bus right now. my w/c pump is in the way of the x16, but that should be taken care of sooner or later. does that much matter though? i haven't seen an impact.

SOOO... seeing what you've seen here, any suggestions or thoughts on where to go next? i don't think the ram can go much higher than this, though i think the cpu can make it to 2600 with a good PS.

edit: everything IS a bit overvolted though i can't remember what it was set to offhand. i'll know next time i reboot.

Interesting that cpu-z reads your chip at .048 volts. Nice oc if that's the case. As for your video card, you shouldn't have a problem in the x8 slot as it's not going to use even that amount of bandwidth. Just get the new psu and see how far she'll take you.

yeah i noted the voltage too. found that funny, actually. :) wondering if there's a reason for that or not - the volts are reported accurate in the bios as far as I can tell, too.

it's a nice truepower2 550, can't wait to get it in.
i'm a bit irked that i went witht he 165 after all though - the 10x mult would be nice here.

edit: does the ram running at 1t make much of a difference? if i have to push the ram down to 2t or relax the timings, at what point should i worry that the benefit of the cpu increase will be outweighed by the loss of memory speed? oooo... that's an evil question.

Sorry I didn't see your edit. But the memory running at 2t won't hurt performance as much as you think. It's much better to run the memory at a higher frequency if you can get it with just changing the cpcp to 2t. Try it both ways and bench to see what the differences are.
