I just bought a used GDM-FW900 CRT monitor. I've had it for about a week. Brought it home, plugged it in with no problems. Tweaked it a bit to get an acceptable picture. Used it daily and then shut it off at night to give it a rest. No problems until this morning. When I tried to turn it on, it made it's usual start up popping sound (is this even normal?) with the green power light on, then immediately the power light started flashing orange about every second. I turned it back off, shut the computer down, unplugged the cable....plugged it back in and powered up the computer. Same thing...

So, I turned everything back off, then turned the monitor on but not the computer. The monitor's power light turned on and stayed green - no flashing orange.

Powered up again, checked my system/graphics-displays situation and it does appear there, so it is communicating with the computer.

The online manual says to call Sony, but I figure they're going to tell me I'm on my own anyway since the monitor is so old, and I'm not the orginal buyer.

Can anyone help me???? PLEASE!!!:(

From the look of it it doesn't sound good at all man...
Where did you buy it? You could ask for at least partial refund.

As much as I like CRTs, I would not buy any due to no warranty issues

hmm. you should try leaving the monitor completely off for a couple of days, and see if it still occurs.

Also, double check your graphics card (you can grab one from local BB) and then return later, just to make sure nothing is wrong with it.

I cant really think of anything else either . . . (hate luck sometimes)
