Heyall,

Well iam now the proud owner of a x1900 XT - arrived today, works great, but... something i noticed.

Iordered the card from zipzoomfly.

https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=326837

Idid read it right, it says an x1900 XT - k, so icheck the specs on Sapphire site:

http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_specifications.php?gpid=137

RADEON X1900 XT

RADEON™ X1900 XT core (625MHz)
512MB GDDR3 onboard memory (1450MHz)
48 pixel shader processors
256-bit Memory Bus
PCI Express x16
Pixel Shader Version 3.0
Video Acceleration of: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9, VC-1, and H.264
Dual DVI
TV-Out
2 Sapphire Select Unlock keys

Okay, great, has the right speeds, easily overclock tyo XTX i am thinking - wow awsome

Now, my questins - does the sapphire cards have some kind of "underclocking" ferature when not in full use ?

cause using the latest cat's 6.5 and ATi tool beta 0.25 - it is reporting my speeds VERY low

Core - 500mhz
Memory 594

So, did i get screwed in the ass?

If so this really is going to piss me off cause i am in costa rica which means i will have to pay a MINIMUM of $100 to ship it back if i have to pay to the U.S, 2nd i will then have to pay another $100 for a temporary export license so i dont have to pay duty on it when it comes back.

I love the card, it runs good, but i want my other 100mhz on the core and memory

i tried setting the core to 625 as it should be - and the system just reboots.....

PHEW!!

is a down clockin feature, went into CS:S , alt+tab' out and i am at 621 / 720 now :D iw ant my other 4mhz!!! :D

There needs to be a stick with caps about this on every forum. There is always someone posting every other weeks, about getting "screwed" and a slower clocked card. Sigh. :/

That and the "ZOMG MY 300GIG DRIVE IS ONLY 127GIG AFTER FORMAT, I GOT SKREWED!@@!!".

i did a search for x1900 and searched 3 pages opening anythread with x1900in it, and found nothing about the clock speed issue.

and i know about harddrives :)

i did get worried, when you drop $370 on a vid card and i had not heard anything about this prior and i had done alot of reading.

acfter i made this post i hit google with some dif search terms and again, after about 2-3 pages deep and finally found a post on some forum where someone mentioned this.

Every modern video card has some form of 2d/3d clock switching. Everybody knows this.
Even my x800GTO^2 has it... but it's more of a, now I need to run it out of spec because a 3d application opened, feature.

400/490 - 2D
600/600 - 3D
620/620 - Benchmarks
