On my P4P800, my temps were about 30 C idle and 47-50 C dual priming.

On my IC7, the temps are about 40C idle and 57-60 dual priming.

Does this mean my temperatures are still fine or they were high all along?

Well, in BIOS, Abit temps read very high.

Using MBM and the CPU diode temp, I get more accurate results (though I'm not sure if they're right anyways).

42 idle / 56 full load for me.

REad this: http://www.legitreviews.com/Reviews/coretemp_1.shtml

2 pages about it.

Basically says what almost everyone else has known for years. (Abit temps are too high & Asus temps are too low)

Either Asus is downplaying temps to make their customers think their mobo's run cooler which I think is likely since some people report very low idle temps... like almost ambient temp.

Or Abit over states their temps to make scare people in to not pushing too hard, which would make sense, since their voltages are a little overstated on their mobos too. (usually about .05 less than BIOS reading)

OR COMBINATION of both of the above which doubles the affect.
Ex: Asus fudges down 5C, and Abit fudges up 5C, so you get like a 10C difference when running the 2 mobos.

I think it would take running EVERY mobo out there with every BIOS, then averaging the temps and call that the acurate temp. Then estimate each brand's usual offset.

Thanks for the article, always fun to learn something new and be informed about this stuff.
