Been mining to a bitcoin address

HI, i have been mining to a bitcoin address and i dont know where the hell i got it from , i can not find the correct wallet with it inside.

When i open the Bitcoin Core i just click on File -> Receiving Addresses. Right ?

Such a fking idiot, Im not sure if i can allocate the address to me somehow?
2 weeks of mining for nothing, i was to fcking scream now.

yah i am man, i looked, i an give it to you , its bizzare.
I have reinstalled bitcoin core again and i am now going to fully synch it , it is taking forever....3 days now.
I am mining again though to the receing address.
Still sad i lost my time electricity and also my flame, ffs
such a loss

only online exchange i have is with Luno.com but i dont use it, though i am trying to understand which is a better option , having online or offline wallet?
 
I have found the wallet , i used textpad to search for string "name" in all .dat file on all my hard drives.
I then found the address in the same record in the file.

Now i need to know how to open that wallet in Bitcoin core , i cant figure it out yet.

The block chain also took 1 weeks to download so i dont want to fuck it up and have to re-download all that again.

Just move the wallet.dat file your BTC core is using now and replace it with the one you found and reopen the wallet. Should sync up with what coins you had on it.
 
Okay i sorted it out.
Very difficult to maintain a 130 gigs of data , dam
Nevertheless i managed to transfer all the funds from my old found wallet to my new one.
Is offline the way to go , or online?
 
Depends on how much you are storing. If you are just mining on one or two gpu's and are getting like $5-10 day, I think its fine to be online. I wouldn't want to store serious money online though so if you plan to buy like 10 grand or something I wouldn't trust it online. Like for me, I wasn't able to access Coinbase today because it was down but it wasn't a big deal. Only had $30 bucks or so on the account.
