Been burning for a new GPU but...

As title says I been burning to get a new GPU...
But I been borrowing older but newer cards than my own, from friends.
Nothing is really wowing me, unless over it's powered and I crank everything to max !!!
Which also comes with added cost $$$.

I am on a FirePro V5800 (Yes i know its a sucky card but bc of its Industrial support for some of my work application i been hanging onto this card) it was cheap at $100 =)

I believe its very close to a 5750/7750 card, which for casual gaming is pretty adequate.

Only games I play at the moment is Titanfall and GW2 on a 1080 21.5" LED screen.
So i am not pushing a lot of pixels either, and both games are pretty optimized to run on low end machines.

AMD A10 7850K
16GB Ram Ballstik
250GB SSD

I only have 1 slot so CrossFire isn't an option.

So my question is, should i hold off until one more generation or look for something now ?
As i Said i been with this card for a while now (Not like I have to change) I just been itching to get a new card. But I can't get my self to spent $300 bucks for a card where the wow factor isn't dramamtic....

Any 2cents advice or what would u do ?
 
Do you ever feel you are being held back in your gaming by your video card? If not I would hold out and see if the next generation brings something that may wow you.
 
Cards are priced pretty high right now because of mining. You might want to wait for the next gen to hit if you don't really need an upgrade now... today's topend is tomorrow's mid range ;). The 280x / 270 are nice cards, but good luck getting them for retail or even on sale.
 
Well your processor isn't made for the permance sector, its a power saving all in one chip, but since you have it you might as well get a amd card you can use with it such as a r9-270x
 
Prices are starting to fall. I'd wait for next die shrink. In the meantime, run what you have or even A10-7850K at lower resolution. Was pretty content with A10-7850K iGPU getting ~60 fps in BF4 1600x900 low with Mantle. With FPS multiplayer the action is too fast to notice the eye candy plus you're at a disadvantage with higher graphics settings that obscure your view.
 
I would definitely recommend a 290 if it weren't for the damned prices. In my day, 290's could be had for as little as $379 shipped to your door in 2 days with no tax! It would have stayed that way too, if it hadn't been for those damned miner kids!

Prices are indeed starting to fall, though. Retailers are still gouging a bit over MSRP, but the used market is getting flooded right now with sub-MSRP AMD cards.

I am aware of it but the CPU does what it needs to do in a Small ITX case.
I do have 2 more computers of which one has a FX 6300 Again not the most powerfull CPU.

But again it also runs an ancient GPU 8800GT (But that one my Fiance is using mainly)

Been also trying to find something nice, surprisingly the 8800 GT can handle the games she plays on medium settings also LOL.

I guess i will wait and see what happens maybe i can snag me a used or a card on sale for cheap where the lil wow is accompanied with a small Price tag LOL

If you have anything better then the stock cooler, crank the speed on that 7850K up. It is unlocked for a reason: Free performance via OverClocking my friend! Every review I have seen shows they O/C very well, with many getting in the 4.5~4.7Ghz range (an AIO CLC would be best if you can fit one in the case). This will help your minimum frame rates and keep your FPS more stable. You can also crank the iGPU speeds up.

I would also look into getting an R250 for X-Fire with your 7850K in place of your currently outdated card. The R250 would be faster on it's own I believe, and TitanFall is scheduled to get an X-Fire patch (if it hasn't already).
