After this poll is completed I will put up a list of maps for you guys to vote on.

:)

can you explain the diff between the modes for noobs like me?

Wikipedia ftw.

'Rush' players must defend or destroy pairs of M-COM stations until either the attackers run out of respawn tickets or all of the stations are destroyed. Lost tickets can be regained by reviving fallen teammates. An M-COM station can be destroyed by planting a charge, using explosive weapons or ballistics, or simply by demolishing the building in which it is located. Not all M-COM stations exist in destructible buildings, forcing players to use a variety of methods to achieve the same goal.

'Conquest' features the classic gameplay of the Battlefield series. Players must capture and defend flags for as long as possible. If a base is taken, it can be recaptured, and the cycle can repeat until the game's end. Every kill depletes one ticket, and tickets gradually decrease when one team controls more than half of the flags on the map at the rate of approximately 1 ticket per 7 seconds on one three flag map, Laguna Alta. Vehicles can spawn once a flag is captured. When one team's tickets are depleted, that team will lose the game. Lost tickets can be regained by reviving fallen teammates.

Is it possible to do swapping? Like alternating between softcore and hardcore after days? So one day software, then next day hardcore, and so forth?

yes, but a very bad idea for a few reasons

1) Maitnence, that has to be done by hand, albiet its only a min or two, but it requires the server to be restarted

2) Player base.....servers live off of their player base, and the ease to find the server again....swapping modes takes it out of peoples server list when using specific filters (like I personally do)

Ah. I usually jump around servers regardless of the mode, so was just curious if it could be automated or something. But personally, softcore is more relaxing to play.

I'm really torn between HC and SC because I play and love both. Ultimately voted for a SC Mixed server, though due to it's versatility.

Only 35 votes? I know more of you play bc2!

I think we need a sticky post in the PC Gaming and Hardware forum to get the word out about the vote and the BC2 server.

Judging by the number of posts in the BC2 and BF3 threads, there are a lot of BC2 players but they don't visit the [H]ard Gaming Community forum. I always see our server empty.

Server is dead for a number of reasons..one being the map rotation is very boring.
After 1 round..should switch to a new map to keep the interest..and switching from rush to conquest is helpfull. I dont like Rush as much as conquest..but if its a good map..Ill play it.
some spawn protection in the main caps would be nice.

I think we need to work harder. Server population is the hardest thing. It takes effort. Ill start posting steam group events every other day untill we get there. Ive finally learned how to level up a little so there is more fun then aggravation for me.

I'll try and get on every night if I can, I don't mind helping people level up, I love it best when your entire squad sticks with you instead of everyone going every which direction.

Hardcore mix for sure. As one of those pesky snipers, having every person i kill see my location is out of the question! Soft is just too.... soft

Killcam is one of the options you can choose to turn off or on, I believe.

As a former admin of a BC2 Server, yes, it is optional. It can be turned OFF in softcore. As a matter of fact every option is configurable. You can make a softcore server have all the default hardcore settings, except damage of course.

whats funny with killcam on you think the idiots would move but they dont I luv coming fom halfa map and to knofe them in the back,,,,,LOL

Boring... How so kind sir. I find Just plain ole Rush just fine. I think you may need to play some more BC2. IMHO

No I don't. Most players sit on the defense side and stat pad like a little bitches with their sniper rifle and if they can't do that on the defense they do it on the attack side.

But again its IMO

Yeah, flying still has some bugs. :p It was funny watching you destroy the house when we were trying to get out lol

Other than the rubber knives that make me RAGE!! it was fun.

We tried to help get people in the server. We got up to 10 people for a moment. Usually it fills up after that.

The same can be said about conquest. Yes... It is a matter of opinion, just begs the question why rush only wasn't an option.

So to affirm what was previously deleted from this thread for no good reason....

Last night shows a small amount of people in the server will attract more people just searching the sever browser for a game. There was only 4 of us and at one point it grew to 10 at one point. Normally in our group's old server if we jumped in it with 3 or 4 people it filled up in about 15-20 minutes. Maybe it was the map. Heavy Metal is not a low player count map for sure. Try something like Oasis or Arica Harbor rush. After the server fills change up the rotation to suit a larger player count. This can be done on the fly with the BCCC.

Whats the funky point system anyway? I'm ranked 18th from one round lol.

I played for a little bit on [H] server last night. Was fun. The only thing annoying was sniper camper while it was 4v4 and the people that used armor while it was 4v4.

If you played when we played it was Heavy Metal map. That whole map is based off vehicles. Not much you can do. But theres plenty of cover on that map for engineers to take out armor. As for the sniper. Snipe him back or go knife him. I changed my kit multiple times last night to reflect what we needed in a given situation.

I"ll play again tomorrow. got too much shit to do after work today.
