BC2 fails to load....

WHAT GIVES?!?!

All my hardware is up to date...

I preordered through steam.... and when i installed it one of the punkbusters failed to install and when i load the game is loads for 2 secs then exits... any ideas?
 
You need to disable Steam overlays in the Settings tab. It's a DX11 issue with the Steam client, NOT BC2.
 
up in your Steam Menu Bar.

Click File -->settings--> Interface Tab -->Uncheck "Notify Me about additions...blah blah" --> In-Game tab --> uncheck Enable Steam Community in-Game

You should be good.
 
I had to run the .exe from the actual steam app folder. I ran as Administrator just to be safe. I also had to delete the pb (punkbuster) folder inside the BC2 folder. This is what finally got me into a game. Several steps I had to do in order to get the game to work. Nothing too serious but I had to do it.

At first punkbuster wasn't installing correctly and after deleting the pb folder it installed.
 
Just 'opt-in' to the latest Steam Client beta in your Steam settings.

It supports Steam overlay in DX11, which is why your game isn't running I assume. It also means you'll get an overlay in other DX11 games like Dirt2.
