i have the mx700 cordless mouse. for a while i had the batteries that cme with it in then found some different ones. they lasted for about 3 days then i had to charge. i then went out and got some energizer and they only lasted 2 days before charging. what kind of batteries should i get that last longer? i am on my comp most of the day and night so dont have time to wait for them to charge. i usually go to bed at 2 am and wake up at 10 am. they are getting thee charge but dont seem to last long. whats a good batt

You probably need to buy multiple packs of rechargeable batteries (at least 2 sets of however many batteries your mouse requires). While one set is charging, you'll use the other, and vice versa.

mouse uses 2 batteries and thats what im going to do thanks. if anyone knows of any batteries that last longer than 3 days please tell me also because if im in the middle of a game and the batteries give out and i have to stop to change them, well that would just plain suck

y the mx500? i need the cordless because of the location of the tower. the cords dont reach. plus they get in the way

You sure you're buying the nihm batteries? those should never die from what i've heard. have an mx700 myself, there''s been a few times i have it off the cradle for a few days and it works just fine, or i'm at a lan and it goes fine for 10-12 hours before i pack up a leave. the batteries that come with it only take about 30, 40 minutes to get a full 8-12 charge out of. i

f you sleep for 8 hours (2 to10), why don't you recharge the battieres then? the nihms from everything i have read don't build memory, you set the mouse on the cradle sometime between 10am and 2am when you are awake, possibly at the bathroom, eating, talking on phone, watching tv, etc.

As far as the batteires lasting longer, i did read a post a few months back that went to the nihm ratings. I believe the higher the rating, the longer the charge, but also the longer the recharge time.

but seirously, is there a need the mouse needs to be off the cradle for 2, 3 days at time???

the ones i have now last about 3 days. somtimes i forget the charger.

i'm sure there's periods where you're not on the computer, just put the mouse in the cradle.

i do everynight, and it lasts, it's never gone dead on me.

takes about 30 mins to recharge them. im sure you have a 30 min window (eating, pooping, you get the idea)

just about every 2 days i get a message saying the batteries in the mmouse are low place on the charger to recharge. when it says that im off of the comp for about 1 hour. the comp is everything to me. all of my schooling is on the comp.

wow 30 to 40 minute recharge time? With that fast of a charge isn't there the risk of burning out the batteries over time? BTW do they have a kill circuit in the charger to keep from overcharging the batteries as that would also reduce its lifetime
---More and more questions, that what I get for reading Dan's Data all the time

You are charging them every night and not just when they run down, right? Are you using alkalines by any chance?

i only charge it when it tells me to. i am running energizer right now. y should i be running alkline

No don't use alkalines. I thought maybe you were using the wrong kind of batteries. So you are using energizer nimh batteries? Why do you need to run it for a couple days before charging? You could just put it on the charger overnight. Wouldn't that solve the problem?

i polay games for about 4 hours then come to [H] for a couple of hours then schooling. most of the time i forget to put it on the charger

But you can go for a full day, right? Put it on the charger overnight and it will be ready for the next day. Man I wish I had your schedule.

lol. i think im just going to have ti write myself a note on a postit and put it on my monitor to remeber myself to put it on the charger

why dont you just put it in the cradle when youre not using it, LIKE ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK?

no, you do not want to use lithium ion. nor alkaline. Just put the mouse in the charger when you're not using it. MiMH does not suffer from 'memory' effects etc. and it will not hurt the mouse to charge whenever you're not around. You won't get much more than 3 days out of it no matter what batteries you use.

8 hours is definitely long enough for the batteries to recharge. Just remember to leave the mouse in the cradle at night. Eventually it will get to be a habit.

Yeah seriously put the damn thing on the charger right before you brush your teeth.

If you can't remember to brush you teeth every night then God help you. lol
