Battlefield1942 and refreshrate problem

the problem is that the game will not load because i have a refresh rate lock. I went to the file VideoDefault.con to change renderer.allowAllRefreshRates from 0 to 1. BUT that command was not in the file. I have done this before but this time the command line was not there. so i just added the command with the right figure, but the game still doesnt load! i dont know what to do... and im still wondering why the command line is not present..

anyone know what i can do?

im downloading the 1.5 update.. will that solve my problem?
