I don't know if it was asked already but what's the difference
between the CD-rom and the DVD-rom ?

is one better than the other ? :confused:

oh yea whats all the BS about the demo

is there gonna be one and when is it coming out ?

CD-ROMs read CDs only.
DVD-ROMs read CDs and DVDs.
 
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought he was asking what the differences between the CD and DVD versions of BF2 would be.
 
The CD version will come with many CDs so ull have to swap CDs when installing. The DVD version will come with 1 disc, so the installation will be faster because u wont have to swap.
 
I am looking forward to this game, I think it is going to be released sometime in June. I had a lot of fun playing DC, will be interesting to see what they bring to the table with this. I am sure it will be a hit this summer.
 
The bigger question is, which version will still allow me to burn backup my copy of BF2 using Alcohol so I don't have to put the DVD or CD in everytime I want to play the game?
 
No demo....yet. They let a bunch of Danish press people play multiplayer at a old barn that was fixed up on the inside (don't ask me why, cause I have no clue why) about a month ago. The lone American press guy at the event was told by Dice and EA that a demo will be released BEFORE the game hits shelves in June (I believe between the 6th and the 15th, somewhere in there). As to whether it is a SP or MP demo, knowbody but DICE and EA know yet. As to when the demo is coming....again, only DICE and EA know for sure. After the MP press event the American press guy said EA and DICE where hinting at an E3 release of a demo.
 
I wonder how long it will take the MODers to make a conversion from BF2 to BF1942

Im almost waiting for that more than bf2 itself as a game. I want basically a direct port of bf42, maybe add a few weapons and vehicles, but keep the basic balance and maps. The bf42 mod for bfv was a good idea, but dice went and fucked up wake by screwing with the flag circles.

I'm WAITING *im*PATIENTLY for this game. I'm a huge DC fan, and a semi BF:V fan. BF2 looks SWEET. I've been waiting for a demo since February.

If you can tell me your sources for your speculation, I'd be greatful.
 
Planetbattlefield found out with a program called GameSpy3D that there are EA game servers running the battlefield 2 demo. They concluded out of that, that the demo isn't far away anymore, because EA games in testing it.
Some rumours said after that that the demo will be released the 25th March 2005.

Ben Smith from EA said that there is no word about a Battlefield 2 demo this month (MARCH). The servers are only for capturing ingame screenshots, trialers and testing other things.

So there were rumours of a 25th of March demo release. That came and went with nothing. So the next rumour is a 25th of April release of a demo.

I still hold to the E3 demo release.
 
You're right . . . been a long day I guess.

Anyway, Tiny, The news that EA was testing the Demo was FALSE. Ben Smith, Assistant Producer (I believe) said the testing was regarding the BFTV, which produces "Demos" or Movies. They didn't mean and actual game demo, but recorded Demos from BFTV . . . just like HLTV.

So the 25th is just basically more speculation? No confirmation from a source?

I also agree. I feel the game demo won't be released until or after E3. If it was released before then, what's the point of showing it off? If you can play it, it wouldn't be a big hit at E3.

My box can run CSS fine but am expecting a major upgrade for this game
So if the system requirement are high, its gonna have to wait till Jan2006 for me to upgrade

if ur pc can handle hl2 den u can handle this game on at LEAST medium details which is better then nothing.. i remember when i got bf and bf v, my system couldnt handle it and had 2 upgrade. mya dvice is only upgrade when your starting 2 run games at low details

Seriously, I'm looking forward to it too, although I've been getting bitch slapped on every online FPS that came after MOH:AA. Maybe I'm getting old ... no that can't be it. I need another new computer!

My gaming habits will fall greatly soon. I posted a few times that HL2 would be my last game ever. I have BF2 pre-ordered. I can only see myself playing games that are AAA+, and only a few hours a week at most.

I don't know what it is (maybe growing older), but I look at games different now. I use to read everything that I could get my hands on about almost every game, not so now. I see stuff about a game and I am mostly saying "eh" about 98% of them. I know I will get a Xbox360 on launch day. Though I may not buy more than one game for it.

Anyway....I am looking forward to the BF2 game. I keep watching the gameplay videos and sit open-mouthed at how far games have come. I use to think PITFALL on my Atari was awesome. heh.

Well, my PC handled BF:Vietnam on medium settings, but that was when I only had 256mb of SDRam, maybe the 512mb of ACTUAL DDR Ram will help...

hope it doesnt come out before the R520/..

no one knows for sure yet. But all the BF games have been big ram eaters, so I'd say a min of 512mb system ram if you play at 10x7 and higher with settings at mid and up.
 
im quitting games becasue i wont have any time for them anymore has i will soon be a husband and ting :) i would only play sports games that dont require much time and effort has games like hl2 doom 3, WOW. games dont appeal to me that much nowadays to be honest.
im sure bf 2 will b nice but not a mayjor difference compared to other fps
