battlefield 2 demo problems

So I downloaded the BF2 demo, and whenever I try to run the setup, it displays the "working in background" mouse pointer animation for like 2 seconds, then goes back to normal. Nothing starts. I have no idea why it does this. I should be able run it fine, I have:

Athlon 64 3200+
Sapphire Radeon X800
1GB Corsair XMS RAM
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Windows XP SP 2

Any suggestions?

1 u could of got an bad copy of bf2 so to fix redownload
2 make sure windows firewall is not blocking it (goto control panel,windows firewall,exceptions and tick the box with something simliar to bf2demo name).

1. I redownloaded it several times, however, I haven't tried different sites, so maybe that will work.

2. I'm pretty sure windows firewall isn't blocking it, but I will also double check that as well.

3. I'm a screw? What?
