Batch convert jpg -> psd

I've got a little over 300 jpg images that I want to convert over to psds to play around with in Photoshop w/out losing quality (I'll be saving, closing, re-opening, saving, etc. countless times) Is there a way to batch convert them all, or must I open and re-save each and every one?

I have 5.0, CS, and Elements 1.0 for PC
and 6.0 for mac.

 
Well, you could use the Batch feature under the "File" menu in photoshop to convert them, Or you could just leave them as jpg's, as photoshop will open them anyway, as any loss or degredation has already happened when they were saved to jpg form originally.. re-saving them as psd's wont improve the jpg quality at all, just give you a native photoshop format.
 
I agree with naughtybulldog.

However, if you're set on doing it, use Actions (Alt+F9) and Batch (File > Automate > Batch.) If you're unsure, use Google or the Help file. You could have searched google for terms such as "Photoshop Batch," however.
 
I know the quality isn't going to get any better. I'm going to be opening and resaving and opening and resaving again and I don't want to lose any more quality than I already have ... that's why I don't want to work with jpgs.

I tried the actions in batch but none of them save as psd. I've found a little guide to create my own action and I'm going to see how that works.

 
most picture viewing programs have a batch function i have ACDSee 7

you just select what you want to convert, then hit convert to file and it will give you options to convert all or whatever. and you want put them in another folder or just delete the old ones
