Bass pounding... bad for HDD?

hey guys, in my very small room (about 12x10) I have my rig and a fairly decient 5.1 dolby digital home theater. [yea I know its amazing I can fit in the room at the same time right] Anyway, I was watching U-571 yesterday and I was thinking, there is a ton of vibration here... I wonder if its doing anything to the computer, which is about 5 feet away from my 250 watt sub. Do we think that anything bad is happening to it from the sub, or should I not worry about it because some 7.1 PC speakes have equally powerful subs?

No, subs don't produce violent enough impulses to do harm. The more common concern is the magnetic field generated by unshielded subs, but 5 feet should be enough room. My own computer room is about the same size, and I've got a 150w sub three feet from my main machine, and only two from my windows development box.
