Basics of web video

[JHefile]

If I were to ask what are the basic steps to getting a mini dv video on the web compressed or whatever needs done, what would you say?

I've used Pinnacle Studio to capture video from a MiniDV tape, edit it, then export into many file formats... including Windows Media, RealMedia and MPEG.

You can control the compression, to balance filesize and quality.

Plus, Pinnacle Studio can be used for making DVDs as well. It's a great package, easy to use, and relatively inexpensive.
