Basic website building programs?

[RancidWAnnaRIot]

Hey guys,

This is a post on behalf of my girlfriend. She has a website she updates. It has her resume, and a bunch of stuff related to school..

She's using netscape composer.. and she hates it because most of the time, it does not post her published pages and it won't tell her what she's doing wrong.. she also tried the mozilla composer but that's the same thing as Netscape.
The published page does not show up on her website...It's a broken link.

my question is..

Are there any free programs out there that are easy to use, and are better than netscape composer for making websites??

Thanks

Nvu is pretty nice, and is free.

start->run->notepad

but notepad+ is probably better. I used to be a huge Crimson Editor fan when I did assembly coding. I guess it has HTML syntax highlighting too.

Since she is in school, cant she get frontpage for free or close to free? My office 2003 was $5 and it included Frontpage 2003....

I use Dreamweaver but I use to use the old version of First Page 2003. It's free and pretty damn powerful. I hope this helps in your decision.
