question is, with a nforce3 socket 939 board, and a winchest based cpu, my understanding of the issue is that winnie cores can only run 4 sticks of ram at 333. but, if im oc'ing, and setting the ram speed to 133, and ht multiplier at 3x, with fsb at a relatively low 275, why will the machine not boot? is this not effectively ddr266 (pc2100 speeds). i know that the 133 option in bios is actually a divider. should i try setting the ram speed to 100? also, what are the potential problems with setting it to 100? at 133 ram speed, with fsb set to 275, the cpu-z reported speed is 186..i think, but it's under the rated 200. do i gain more from staying at 1gb at 9x275, 133mem speed (actual is 186), with 3x ht multi? or would i be better off going 2gb @ 100mem, higher fsb, lower ht clock? anyone running this board on a winnie core with all ram slots populated?

thanks in advance.

you got 2 problems,

1) winnie's do 2T 333mhz with 4 sticks. Thats 166.67mhz fsb speed, regardless of what your ram is rated, thats the winnie 4 stick speed, anything else is an overclock. Set the ratio 1:1 in the bios and your FSB (htt) would be 166mhz.

2)your "relativly" low 275 is very high, just because you divided it on the board doesn't mean the processor has lowered its FSB (htt) frequency, so your asking your winnie's mem controller to run 75mhz over stock. Dividiers help aid memory performance, they do nothing really to the onboard controller (which was upgraded significatly in the venice and san diego).

About all you can do is play around till you get a setting that works, but its gonna be a pain i think.
